What
is BIBs (Believing in Beginings)?
A Birth to Three Program at the Center for Childrens Services Funded
by the Illinois State Board of Education dedicated to supporting
families with children aged birth3 through home visiting, community
referral, and group services.
At BIBs we believe that it takes a village to raise a child and we
want to help.
What
is a BIBs Home Visitor?
- Someone who develops a special relationship with you and your
family.
- Offers developmental screening for your child in the privacy of
your home.
- Connects you to the community resources. that are right for your
family
Home
visiting can help you to...
- Understand yourself and your baby.
- Gain insight into the special relationship you share with your
baby.
- Explore topics of child development as they relate to your
child.
- Feel good about yourself as a parent
What
are BIBs Group Services?
The BIBs Program also offers play groups for parents and their
children held each month on the second and fourth Wednesday.
Transportation is provided!
Please contact BIBs for information regarding specific times and
dates.
All BIBs services are voluntary and free of charge.
Believing in Beginnings goals:
- To strengthen family relationships by supporting positive
parent/child interactions.
- Support children in making continual developmental progress in
all areas of development including: physical, social-emotional,
language, and intellectual development.
- To embrace diversity by celebrating families unique gifts and
unique needs.

- Establish caring, nurturing, and positive parent child
relationships.
- To assist families in identifying family hopes and dreams,
strengths, supports and necessary services.
- To prevent child abuse and neglect through education and
support.
- To support families in the transition to 3-5 services
(preschool, Head Start, child care, etc).
- Provide education related to preventative and primary healthcare
for children and families.
- To provide screening and referrals when necessary.
- Ensure that children identified at risk for developmental delays
will be referred for assessment and services.
- To establish partnerships with community agencies and
organizations.
