The Center for Children's Services is committed to caring for children by assisting families in meeting their needs. Our goals is to help foster the growth and development of their children, enabling them to achieve their full potential and to develop into mature, responsible adults. Founded in 1894 as the Vermilion County Children's Home, the agency originally provided institutional, custodial care for the area's homeless and orphaned. In 1973 the orphanage was closed and the Center focused on providing family support in caring for their children in their own homes.

The Center now offers a wide range of services, resources and supports to help bring out the very best in the children and families of our community, including individual, group and family counseling, crisis intervention, childcare, parent education programs, youth mentoring, in-home support services, family conflict intervention, youth job skills training, GED classes, child psychiatry, therapeutic after school programming services for pregnant and parenting teens and for delinquent and antisocial youth, and school-based programs.

Donations: Donation of good quality infant and children's clothing, household items, file cabinets, etc. are always appreciated.

Contributions: General contributions, memorial and honorarium gifts of any amount are helpful. Contributions can be made in cash, check, credit card, or by pledge.

Planned Giving: The Center for Children's Services is a not-for-profit agency. As funding decreases the needs of those we serve continue to grow. Funds received by the Center go directly to Programs and Services provided right here in Vermilion County. Your charitable gift can help continue, expand and implement programs and services that are so greatly needed within the community we serve.
